A Psychosomatic Approach to Quality of Life in Patients with Epilepsy

Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate psychosocial functionality in patients with epilepsy using the Diagnostic Criteria for Psychosomatic Research (DCPR) classification system that aims identify clinically significant and relatively weighted psychological factors compare it Statistical Manual Mental Disorders (DSM). Materials Methods: One hundred consecutive who were referred Epilepsy special branch outpatient clinic included study. control group consisted 53 healthy volunteers. Results: Eighty-seven percent met diagnostic criteria while 82% DSM (χ2(1, N =100) = 4.539, p 0.04).
